Taizé Ensemble

Rehearsal is the 3rd Monday of each month,at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. This is an instrumental ensemble for older youth and adults to enhance our monthly Taizé services and is open to all musicians. Taizé music is contemplative in nature. It usually involves a simple one or two line refrain that is repeated multiple times. As the refrain is repeated over and over, different instrumental and vocal harmonies are brought in. The purpose of this repetitive singing is to help us focus and contemplate on a single aspect of God for an extended period of time.

Instrumentalists

Instrumentalists are always needed to enhance our music and worship experience. If you play a particular instrument and are willing to participate in music ministries, contact Joan Wooden at jwooden@southernhillsumc.org.
