Any and all people are welcome to enter the bake off! Kids, Youth, and Adults of any age are welcome to participate.
Entries should be delivered to the church between 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm. Judging will be provided by our event guests and will take place from 7:00 pm to 7:40 pm. The winner will be announced at 8:00 pm.
- All contestants must pay a $3 entry fee.
- All contestants entering must submit their recipe to our Next Great Baker Competition Cookbook!
- Cookbooks from this event will be made available for purchase in mid September for $15 each.
- Contestants must provide at least 1 dessert sample per guest. We expect approximately 30+ guests.
- Submissions must be “professionally prepared” (not store bought).
- All baked goods must be fully baked and complete.
- Any leftover items will be the property of the contestants.
- Please do not submit anything that requires refrigeration.
- Each entry should be marked with the name of your baked good.
Contest Day:
- Check-in begins at 5:00 pm at our Harrodsburg Rd location. Set-up must be completed by 6:30 pm.
- Contestants must be present during tasting to give a brief description of the dessert and answer any questions.
- The event MC will announce the winner at 8:00 pm at the event.
1st Place Winner – $50 Amazon Gift Card, 1st place winner will be featured on the front cover of the Southern hills Next Great Baker Competition Cookbook, your winning recipe will be featured in the cookbook and the quarterly newsletter. Winner will also receive a custom Southern Hills apron!
2nd Place Winner- $25 Amazon Gift Card, 2nd place winner will be featured on the back cover of the Southern hills Next Great Baker Competition Cookbook, your winning recipe will be featured in the cookbook.
3rd Place Winner – $15 Amazon Gift Card, 3nd place winning recipe will be featured in the cookbook.
All proceeds will benefit the Southern Hills United Methodist Youth (SHUMY)
